10. The Sims Social

The Sims Social is a Facebook video game that comes as an addition to EA’s The Sims. The title was developed by Playfish and requires a Facebook account. EA Games released The Sims Social on August 9, 2011.



9. Angry Birds Friends

Monthly active users: 15,700,000

Angry Birds Friends, formerly called Angry Birds Facebook, is a collaboration between Rovio and Facebook, announced on the Angry Birds Facebook page on January 25, 2012. The game was to be released on February 14, 2012, but appeared as a playable version on February 13 as a beta release. The app received a level-update on February 29 and March 29.



8. Words with Friends

Words with Friends is a multi-player word game developed by Zynga With Friends (formerly Newtoy, Inc.). Players can take turns building words crossword puzzle style with an opponent in a manner similar to the classic board game Scrabble (the rules of the two games are similar, but Words with Friends is not officially associated with the Scrabble brand). Up to 20 games can be played simultaneously using push notifications to alert players when it is their turn. Players may look up friends either by username or through Facebook, or be randomly assigned an opponent.

Developer Wooga certainly knows how to make a great puzzle game on Facebook, as anyone who has spent time with the incredibly addictive and charming Bubble Island can attest to. And today Wooga has launched its latest game on Facebook, the match-3 puzzler Diamond Dash.



6. CastleVille

Monthly active users: 19,300,000

CastleVille is a social network game made by Zynga’s Dallas studio and was released in November 2011. It combines a number of elements from the company’s other “Ville” range of games. On launch it had received a million “likes” on Facebook. By the end of its first month, it had become the fifth most popular game on Facebook with 26.5 million players. The game is a freemium game, meaning there is no cost to play but players have the option of purchasing premium content.

Bubble Witch Saga is a brand new bubble game produced by Join the Bubble Witches (and their cats!) on a Saga-quest to break the evils spells. Features more than 70 amazing bubble levels.



4. FarmVille

FarmVille is a farming simulation social network game developed by Zynga in 2009. It is similar to Happy Farm, Farm Town, and video games such as the Harvest Moon series. Gameplay involving various aspects of farm management such as plowing land, planting, growing and harvesting crops, harvesting trees and bushes, and raising livestock. A sequel, FarmVille 2, was released in September 2012. This one made me insane addict, I played it for months, it was very difficult to get rid of the addiction.



3. Bubble Safari

Monthly active user: 28,100,000

Bubble Safari is a Match 3 social network game by Zynga. The object is to help a monkey named Bubbles reconnect with his friends. Following its May 2012 release, Bubble Safari became the fastest-growing Facebook game, with 1.9 million active users for the week of July 9th. PC Magazine ranked Bubble Safari as no. 5 on its Best Facebook Games list. Arcade game designer Mark Turmell, noted for such games as NBA Jam, led Bubble Safari’s development. Bubble Safari is Zynga’s first arcade game, the first Zynga game released on and Facebook simultaneously, and the first game from Zynga San Diego.



2. CityVille

CityVille is a casual social city-building simulation game developed by Zynga, and released in December 2010.

The game is similar to Sim City and Farmville. The goal is to develop a city by farming, constructing buildings, and collecting rent. CityVille is a freemium game. There is no cost to play, but players have the option of purchasing premium content. A sequel, CityVille 2, was released in November 2012.

Zynga Poker is a social game developed by Zynga as an application for the social-networking website Facebook as well as Android, iPhone, MySpace, Tagged, and Google+. It launched in July 2007. With 38 million players, Zynga Poker is the largest poker site in the world.

The game allows Facebook players to simulate playing poker in a social gaming environment. Users enter a casino lobby and can play at any table or join friends for a game. Players choose from casual Texas hold ’em tables, tournament play, or VIP tables. A leader board shows players how they compare in chip ranking to other players and allows players to send or receive gifts.
